Cookie Policy
The small pieces of information your browser stores when you use Potato PDF, and how to control them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to keep. Local storage is similar, but it stays on your device and isn’t sent with every request.
Cookies we use
| Name / type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Keeps you signed in and remembers your session. Strictly necessary. | Session / configured lifetime |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Protects forms and account actions from cross-site attacks. Strictly necessary. | Session |
| Local storage | Dark mode, remembered tool options and dismissed messages. | Until you clear it |
Third-party services
- Google sign-in: if you choose “Continue with Google”, Google may set its own cookies under its privacy policy.
- Advertising: if ads are shown, the ad provider may set its own cookies. We don’t use cross-site tracking ourselves.
Analytics
We count page visits in our own database to see which tools are used. This doesn’t follow you to other websites.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones means you can’t sign in; removing them signs you out and resets your preferences.
Changes
We may update this policy when we add features. The date at the top shows the latest version.
